Giving to Charity

After you have started stockpiling items you should have enough to give some away.

Here are some ideas of places that could use some of your "extras"

1. Missions-in West Michigan here are two examples: Mel Trotter Mission (Grand Rapids) and Holland Rescue Mission

2. Churches-many times local churches have collections of canned goods or other items (such as health and beauty items)

3. Check with places like the Salvation Army or local firestations/police stations around the holidays and they usually are collecting food etc.

4. If you have collected baby items local pregnancy centers could use these things. Alpha Women's Center in Grand Rapids Michigan and Pregnancy Resource Center also in Grand Rapids are two examples.

If you need more ideas of where to give your surplus check with your pastor (if you don't have a church of your own pick one that is in your area).

Happy Giving!
