Free Samples & Coupons from Sprinklings!

Hello!

I just received another sample yesterday from Sprinklings and that reminded me to let you all know about this fun mailing list!.

Go to www.poptarts.com When you get to the website click on the 'parents' button. This will take you to a new page. On this page you want to click on Sprinklings (should be on the upper left side of the factory picture) You will need to provide your address and e-mail address.

The reason for giving your mailing address is to receive samples & coupons from Kellogg's Pop-Tarts.

Yesterday I received a sample box with a package of their new wild grape flavor pop-tarts. This flavor is not yet on store shelves. After my son and I tried them I was able to fill out a survey to let Kellogg's know what I thought of this new product! How cool is that? My son and I were able to share what we thought of a product BEFORE it hit the store shelves. Moms & Dads this is a great way to let companies know what you & your kids like or don't like. The companies are asking and listening so go ahead-tell them what you think!

Sign up today so that you can receive the next free sample and/or coupon! You don't want to miss out on these tasty freebies and a way to let your opinion be known!

Last Minute Gifts

By now, many of you will have finished your Christmas shopping.

However, there are always those last minute gifts that are needed for stockings or maybe you still have one more person to buy for.

Today, I have two suggestions: Walgreens & Meijer!

Let me explain: Walgreens has lots of items that people don't even realize that they sell and this close to Christmas many things are on sale. You can pick up one of their store ads when you walk in. Within the ad are some 'in ad' coupons that make your shopping that much cheaper!

Candy can make an easy stocking filler or a good last minute gift for that one person you don't really know very well but have to give a gift too! There is an 'in ad' coupon for assorted Christmas candy for 39 cents. Limit 6 (assortment varies by store)
Theater pack or King size candy is $3/3-again assortment varies by store. 2.54-7.8oz

If you have a child you need to buy for why not give them a game? This type of gift is something they can play right away with others who are gathered for the Christmas celebration-a nice way to keep kids from getting bored! $4.99!

Walgreen's has Uno, Hippos, Scrabble Slam! & more! Check your local Walgreens for their selection.

Puzzle, activity or coloring books are 3/$1-limit6

If you need tape, wrapping paper or gifts bags Walgreens has all of these items and many are on sale! You can get a 3 pack of Scotch Tape for 2.99 or Walgreens Tape is .99-limit 3 for both brands.

Nuts are a good thing to put out in a dish when people come over! Check out your local Walgreens ad because many different types are on sale! Planters & Walgreens brands

There are also many gift sets and a new extended line of gift cards that you can pick up at Walgreens. Gift cards are great gifts for those hard to buy for people and since you can find so many types at Walgreens you don't have to run all over town to different restaurants or stores to get them-instead you can get them all in one place-Walgreens!!!

Check out your local Meijer's seasonal department: Many Meijer stores have a special $5 and under stocking stuffer aisle in the seasonal department! At my Meijer I found a tube of small play dough tubs for one of my children (under $5). I also noticed that there were toys specifically for girls and boys and some generic things. Metal slinkies, cute sparkle bags with brushes and combs and other 'girlie' type stuff and much more! If you need that last minute stocking stuffer head to your local Meijer.

One thing to remember is that the one day of the year Meijer is NOT open is Christmas Day. So, if you need to get a few things you better get them soon-it's already Dec. 23. Happy last minute shopping!

After you have finished all of your shopping, take a minute to relax and be thankful that you have so many loved ones to buy gifts for! And remember-Christmas is not just about shopping and eating-It is about Jesus' birth and the fact that He came to save us which is the greatest gift ever given!

Hope you all have a blessed CHRISTmas and a Happy New Year!

Disclaimer: The Walgreen's & Meijer prices/items listed in this blog are from certain West Michigan cities-double check the prices at your Meijer or Walgreens-prices/items may vary!

Thanksgiving Deals & Black Friday Ads

Hi!

I haven't posted in a while as I have been in the hospital. Not much fun but at least I am home now and ready to blog:)

With Thanksgiving coming up, there are lots of good sales out there.

I suggets that you check out Family Fare's grocery ad for this week (11/15-11/21)

They have 8 lbs of potatoes for .99 (limit 2). Also a 12lb or larger turkey is .38/lb
Check out the add online at www.familyfarestores.com Also don't forget to check out www.meijer.com for the latest Meijer sales.

If you don't mind waiting in long lines and making your way through crowds of people you should take a look at some of the Black Friday ads that are out there.

Walmart,K-Mart, Meijer, CVS & many more are already on line for you to view.

Go here for the latest Black Friday ads: http://www.blackfriday.info/

You can even put your e-mail address in and you will be notified whenever new ads are available for viewing.

My input is that Walmart has some of the best sales for Black Friday this year-they open at 5am. K-mart has some good deals Thanksgiving Day-so if you want to wear off some of your dinner head on over and start walking around the store:)

Happy Thanksgiving!

Giving to Charity

After you have started stockpiling items you should have enough to give some away.

Here are some ideas of places that could use some of your "extras"

1. Missions-in West Michigan here are two examples: Mel Trotter Mission (Grand Rapids) and Holland Rescue Mission

2. Churches-many times local churches have collections of canned goods or other items (such as health and beauty items)

3. Check with places like the Salvation Army or local firestations/police stations around the holidays and they usually are collecting food etc.

4. If you have collected baby items local pregnancy centers could use these things. Alpha Women's Center in Grand Rapids Michigan and Pregnancy Resource Center also in Grand Rapids are two examples.

If you need more ideas of where to give your surplus check with your pastor (if you don't have a church of your own pick one that is in your area).

Happy Giving!

Price Matching at Walmart

If you see prices you like at a certain store but don't have that store near you but you do have a Walmart-go to Walmart and price match!

This is a good way to get the things you want at the right prices!

The rules for price matching at Walmart

1. Bring the store ad (Meijer/Dollar General/CVS etc.) with you to Walmart

2. You may only price match exact prices/brands/sizes. For instance if Ketchup A is sold at both Walmart and Meijer at the 64 oz size and it states $1.00 sale for this product in the Meijer ad then you may bring the ad to Walmart and get the ketchup at their store.

3. Remember: If a store ad states 25% off or 1/2 off (or other non-specific sale price) you can not price match it at Walmart-they will only honor specifics!

4. When you get to the check out lane, let the cashier know that you are price matching and show them the ad

Happy price matching!

FREEBIES!!!

Getting free stuff in the mail is always fun!

Check out www.freestufftimes.com and you will find great freebies! The freebies are listed by the day so you will want to check back often to see what else is new!

Go to http://instoresnow.walmart.com/In-Stores-Now-free-samples.aspx for free samples. These samples are in high demand so check back for new ones and sign up right away if you see something you like!

Another great way to get samples is to sign up for stuff that you really like. For instance if you really like a certain type of cereal, go to their website and sign up to receive free offers. Sometimes this can be samples and sometimes it's great coupons or fun recipes. Either way you win!

Just recently, I got a free Leap Frog board book for my boys and some free Kashi cereal with a $2/1 coupon. Awesome!!!

Happy Sampling!

Note: Make sure you only sign up at legitmate websites and beware of anything that looks like a scam-if it seems to good to be true it probably is and you shouldn't input any personal information!

Websites that will help you save

I suggest that if you want to get the most for your money you sign up for free websites that have forums which will allow you to see what deals other people are finding and to post your own questions about where to find the best deals on certain items.

You could start out by joining: http://www.hotcouponworld.com/

One of the great things about hot coupon world is that you can view the ad for Meijer stores before it comes out on Sunday-this can help you plan your shopping list & menu ahead of time!

Look for future posting (s) on how to get awesome freebies!

Tips to maximize your savings when shopping!

Here are some easy ways to save money when you go grocery shopping!

1. Get the newspaper for your area that carries the store ads and coupon inserts

2. Once you have the coupon inserts mark them with the date they came out ( such as 9-01-2009) and save the whole ad. You can then clip the coupons you want and file them in a coupon organizer or you can just take the store ad and once you have chosen the sale items to buy go through your coupons and cut the ones you need for the week. Just choose a system that works for you.

3. Look through the store ads and match the coupons with the sale items. For instance if ketchup was on sale for a dollar and you found a .50 coupon you would get the item for .50! Try to match coupons with all the items you need-cleaning supplies, health & beauty and grocery items!

4. Sign up for the rebate program at http://www.riteaid.com/ If you have a Rite Aid near you check their ad weekly and look for rebate items. If you input your receipt data online you save the stamp money and get lots of items for very cheap or free!

5. If you have friends/neighbors/family who get the newspaper but don't use the coupon inserts (or only use part of them) ask if you may have them when they are finished! This is a great way to get doubles or triples of the really good coupons-for free!

7. Try to start out getting at least one thing for free or very cheap. Toothpaste is an easy one. Quite often a store will have this item on sale and you will be able to combine the sale with a coupon (or rebate) and get the item for free! I try not to ever pay for toothpaste anymore-awesome savings!

More tips/saving ideas and deals will be posted later. In the meantime remember to be patient-you have to build up your coupon stash and take a few minutes to match sales and coupons then the savings will start rolling in!

Happy Shopping!!!
