Price Matching at Walmart

If you see prices you like at a certain store but don't have that store near you but you do have a Walmart-go to Walmart and price match!

This is a good way to get the things you want at the right prices!

The rules for price matching at Walmart

1. Bring the store ad (Meijer/Dollar General/CVS etc.) with you to Walmart

2. You may only price match exact prices/brands/sizes. For instance if Ketchup A is sold at both Walmart and Meijer at the 64 oz size and it states $1.00 sale for this product in the Meijer ad then you may bring the ad to Walmart and get the ketchup at their store.

3. Remember: If a store ad states 25% off or 1/2 off (or other non-specific sale price) you can not price match it at Walmart-they will only honor specifics!

4. When you get to the check out lane, let the cashier know that you are price matching and show them the ad

Happy price matching!

FREEBIES!!!

Getting free stuff in the mail is always fun!

Check out www.freestufftimes.com and you will find great freebies! The freebies are listed by the day so you will want to check back often to see what else is new!

Go to http://instoresnow.walmart.com/In-Stores-Now-free-samples.aspx for free samples. These samples are in high demand so check back for new ones and sign up right away if you see something you like!

Another great way to get samples is to sign up for stuff that you really like. For instance if you really like a certain type of cereal, go to their website and sign up to receive free offers. Sometimes this can be samples and sometimes it's great coupons or fun recipes. Either way you win!

Just recently, I got a free Leap Frog board book for my boys and some free Kashi cereal with a $2/1 coupon. Awesome!!!

Happy Sampling!

Note: Make sure you only sign up at legitmate websites and beware of anything that looks like a scam-if it seems to good to be true it probably is and you shouldn't input any personal information!

Websites that will help you save

I suggest that if you want to get the most for your money you sign up for free websites that have forums which will allow you to see what deals other people are finding and to post your own questions about where to find the best deals on certain items.

You could start out by joining: http://www.hotcouponworld.com/

One of the great things about hot coupon world is that you can view the ad for Meijer stores before it comes out on Sunday-this can help you plan your shopping list & menu ahead of time!

Look for future posting (s) on how to get awesome freebies!

Tips to maximize your savings when shopping!

Here are some easy ways to save money when you go grocery shopping!

1. Get the newspaper for your area that carries the store ads and coupon inserts

2. Once you have the coupon inserts mark them with the date they came out ( such as 9-01-2009) and save the whole ad. You can then clip the coupons you want and file them in a coupon organizer or you can just take the store ad and once you have chosen the sale items to buy go through your coupons and cut the ones you need for the week. Just choose a system that works for you.

3. Look through the store ads and match the coupons with the sale items. For instance if ketchup was on sale for a dollar and you found a .50 coupon you would get the item for .50! Try to match coupons with all the items you need-cleaning supplies, health & beauty and grocery items!

4. Sign up for the rebate program at http://www.riteaid.com/ If you have a Rite Aid near you check their ad weekly and look for rebate items. If you input your receipt data online you save the stamp money and get lots of items for very cheap or free!

5. If you have friends/neighbors/family who get the newspaper but don't use the coupon inserts (or only use part of them) ask if you may have them when they are finished! This is a great way to get doubles or triples of the really good coupons-for free!

7. Try to start out getting at least one thing for free or very cheap. Toothpaste is an easy one. Quite often a store will have this item on sale and you will be able to combine the sale with a coupon (or rebate) and get the item for free! I try not to ever pay for toothpaste anymore-awesome savings!

More tips/saving ideas and deals will be posted later. In the meantime remember to be patient-you have to build up your coupon stash and take a few minutes to match sales and coupons then the savings will start rolling in!

Happy Shopping!!!
